Summer Band 2021

Antelope Band Members:
Welcome to Summer Band 2021!!! We want to get you schedules as soon as possible so you can plan those last minute get-aways, work schedules, etc. Please read the dates and times carefully. Please join the remind group (listed in this letter) as soon as possible to avoid missing any important information. A band events schedule is included. Please make sure you keep the contest and performance dates clear.
If there is a question, please contact Mr. Knight as soon as possible—298-4904 (school) or 778-6258 (cell).

WORK DAY—HELP NEEDED:
Anyone interested in helping sort horns, copy music, etc., Wednesday, July 28, and Thursday, July 29, 9:00-3:00. We are doing Wednesday/Thursday so we can all have one last three day weekend before the chaos starts! Come for an hour or two or stay the whole day. Free help is NEVER turned down!!!!! Again, anyone who wants to help is welcome. Bring your talents; we’ll put you to work! WE HAVE TO BE READY TO GO BY THE 2nd for our new marchers, SO COME READY TO WORK FAST! We will finish getting everything ready for the masses after our new-marcher session on Monday afternoon.
TWIRLERS:
Mrs. Liess should be in touch with you about twirling camp. We will contact you if anything varies from that.
COLOR GUARD:
August 2-6 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:00 night rehearsal <same as band>
August 9-13 night rehearsal <same as band>
All dates after the two-a-day week will follow the band schedule. Extra rehearsals will come through Tobie.

LEADERSHIP:
We are discussing a leadership workshop but do not have a date nailed down.
More information will be available as we get closer to the date.

BAND:
First year marchers (freshmen, upper classmen who have not marched before)
Monday, August 2 from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. There will be a surprise at the end!
Leaders, we need you Monday, August 2nd to help teach. Be at the band hall at 6:00 p.m.
FULL SUMMER BAND REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
FULL BAND: all full band rehearsals are evenings (not morning)
Monday, August 2--Freshman/New Marcher Orientation--7:00-8:30
Tuesday, August 3--Full Band 6-9 PM
Wednesday, August 4--Full Band 4:00-5:30
Thursday, August 5--Full Band 6-9 PM
Friday, August 6--Full Band 6-9 PM
Monday, August 9, 9:00 Faculty Perf—Convocation
Monday, August 9--7:00-9:00—Full Band
Tuesday, August 10--7:00-9:00-Full Band
Wednesday, August 11--No Rehearsal
Thursday, August 12--7:00-9:00—Full Band
Friday, August 13--Scrimmage—no rehearsal
August 9---“Back to School” performance for faculty—arr. 8:30, perform 9:00 a.m. (tentative time)
August 12th—Meet the Lopes (It is a Thursday). It will be an evening event. It is required. Time TBA.
WE WILL REHEARSE ON SEPTEMBER 28 (it is a school holiday but we WILL have rehearsal that night).
Please check family calendars. We need you in attendance.
Our first ball game is set for August 27.
Plan on rehearsing each Monday night beginning August 24 (no rehearsal September 7—holiday).
ALL GAMES AND REHEARSALS ARE REQUIRED.
Please plan accordingly.
NOTE: We will rehearse Monday, Oct. 11.
That is a school holiday, but right before contest. We will have a meal that evening before rehearsal.

MUST HAVE FORMS--All forms must be returned to the band hall. The Physical Form must be on file before the student is allowed to rehearse. The Drug Testing Consent Form and the HS Travel Permission Slip must be returned before the student is allowed to travel. All students who have their forms turned in before the OFFICIAL first day of school (August 18) will be placed in a drawing for a couple or three different gift cards.....
